Day 16 ~ Vacation, Smation... I must Exercise!

Today's Thoughts:  I don't know what it is about being around other people who are working out and healthy-eating conscientious that makes you also want to do the same... whatever it is... it works!!  It's almost cult-like.  However you look at it... as far as I'm concerned... if it works, why fix it?

Day 15 Weight:               171.9 lbs.
Day 16 Weight:               169.3 lbs.
Weight Lost:                     -2.6  lbs.
Weight Lost To Date:       7.1 lbs.
Weight Left to Loose:      8.6 lbs.

Wii Fit Age:  22(!) (OH YES!!)
Today's Exercise:  two hours
My workout included: Walking, brisk walk.
Burned 410 calories - the equivalent of 12 onion rings (410 calories)  The calories burned were calories burned with activity outside of wii recorded in my Activity Log.
Water Intake:  4 - 16oz bottles of water

Note: visiting relatives makes it VERY difficult all the way around to be on a diet!... why because they feel they need to show you how much they love you by feeding you.  NO! buy me things instead!  LOL!!  Just kidding!

Breakfast:  Scrambled eggs  (Late breakfast)
Snack:  - -
Lunch:  3/4 cup of spaghetti with meat sauce and a Persian tomato salad (late lunch)
Snack:   - -
Dinner:  1/2 cup Persian rice, Eggplant/beef dish (also Persian), with garlic yogurt!!  One Word... NUMMY!

Today's Summary: Loving the fact that I have been loosing weight the last few days.  Was it the pressure?  Who knows?  Am I more relaxed now that I am visiting my family and friends?  Who knows... however, what I do know is that I am loosing weight and continuing to watch what I am eating.

Tomorrow Goal's:  Where else can I be healthy... after all I am in the mecca of healthy people!  OK let me expand on that... if I'm in Venice as opposed to let's say ...hmmmm... without upsetting anyone...  hmmm.. let's say the valley (San Fernando that is), I am apt to be more careful as to what I eat.  WHY? you ask... again I am not trying to upset any of my friends that live in the valley..but let's face it... for the most part everyone is walking around in bathing suits more so in Venice, than the Valley... hence I am going to watch what I eat more in Venice or even Malibu for that matter.
SO LET'S STAY HEALTHY ... and an early two to three mile walk is in store for me in the am!!!

Cooking Tip of the Day:  Being on vacation, unless you rent a house or something to that fact, you won't be doing much cooking... BUT your host will be (whether it be your mom, aunt or close friends)... so with that being the case, you could let them know that you are dieting... however, that does not mean that the menu will change.  and That's okay.. WHY? Well I will tell you why... It is up to you to use your will power.  You are on a diet, not your family!  So when they are offering you a second  helping of pasta, and they insist on serving it to you... just don't eat it!  You can say no thank you all you want... but they are insistent... in the end... just don't eat it.  Eat the first helping slow. fill up on salad, and skip on seconds.

Health Tip of the Day: Just because you are on vacation, it doesn't mean you can't workout.  I may not have a place to exercise with my wii... but I do have the open road and am able to go for a lengthy POWER walk!!  I say GO FOR IT!!

I am not a doctor or a dietitian, and am not promoting for you to follow "my 21-day challenge."  I do however advise you to consult your physician before exercise or dieting.  This is for my own personal gain (or loss) and not affiliated with wii in any way.  wii is not paying me for this.

Day 15 ~ On the Road Again...

Today's Thoughts:  Not being at home makes it a bit difficult to be on a diet... but I did it!!

Day 14 Weight:              172.1 lbs.
Day 15 Weight:              171.9 lbs.
Weight Lost:                    -0.2  lbs.
Weight Lost To Date:      4.5 lbs.
Weight Left to Loose:    11.2 lbs.

Wii Fit Age:  50
Today's Exercise:  one hour
My workout included: Walking, brisk walk.
Burned 410 calories - the equivalent of 12 onion rings (410 calories)  The calories burned were calories burned with activity outside of wii recorded in my Activity Log.
Water Intake:  4 - 16oz bottles of water

Note: being on a road trip makes it difficult all the way around to be on a diet!... so my meals were nonexistent...but I did get a walk in!!
Breakfast:  Oatmeal with fruit... McDonald's
Snack:  - -
Lunch:  3oz of chicken with a tomato salad
Snack:   - -
Dinner:  3oz chicken

Today's Summary: Two days in a row now... I didn't loose much weight, but at least I lost and did not gain, even if it was only .2 of a pound... Now as a side note... I normally weigh myself in the morning at about the same time, but today being that I am on the road, I did not weigh myself until 8pm at night.  This was the first time I was able to do so.
I will remain strong and stay dieting!  Stay positive... tomorrow is another day and I will continue to work harder!!!  Only difference now will be ... is we're going to my father-in-law's tomorrow, and he cooks the most amazing Persian food!!  I will have to drink lots of water before we eat.  Wish me luck!

Tomorrow Goal's:  Tomorrow should be interesting, heck the next couple of weeks should be interesting... although what matters here is the next six days!  Forward! never straight!

Cooking Tip of the Day:  This is more of a tip on surviving fast food when on a road trip.  When put in a position of having to order out, look for meals that are grilled as opposed to fried or breaded.  Another side note, we did have food to bring with us...BUT ONE HAS TO REMEMBER TO PUT IT IN THE CAR!!!  My BAD!!

Health Tip of the Day: Take pit stops on lengthy drives, stop at rest stops.  Not only stretch you legs, also take a walk around the stop.

Day 14 ~ Will Power vs. Fast Food... Will Power Will Prevail!

Today's Thoughts:  My mood and motivation was uplifted today as I discovered I had finally lost some weight... it was enough to put a little spring into my step and motivate the juices again!  Why is it that we allow to be controlled by numbers on a scale!

Day 13 Weight:           173.9 lbs.
Day 14 Weight:           172.1 lbs.
Weight Lost:                 -1.8  lbs.
Weight Lost To Date:      4.3 lbs.
Weight Left to Loose:    11.4 lbs.

Wii Fit Age:  61 (ok... the stillness test... really?!)
Today's Exercise:  one hour
My workout included: Free Step - 30 mins (2,994 steps),  Free Step - 30 mins (2,996 steps)
Burned 1,316 calories - the equivalent of grilled chicken and blt (500 calories), 1 piece of pineapple cake and 1/2 cup of ice cream (500 calories), 1/2 cup of salsa and 2oz of chips (310 calories)  The calories burned include calories burned with activity outside of wii recorded in my Activity Log.
Water Intake:  4 - 16oz bottles of water

Note: preparing for a road trip and dieting do not go together... my entire day was turned upside down... so my meals were nonexistent...but I got my workout in!!
Breakfast:  Triple Berry/Banana Smoothie
Snack:  - -
Lunch:  today is all messed up!  Again?! Had a bunch of errands, and time got away from me.
Snack:   - -
Dinner:  a pulled pork sandwich with a pickle.

Today's Summary:  Finally!!  I lost nearly two pounds!! I'm back in the right direction!!..  That in itself can either build a person up, or tear them down and make them cry like babies!!
I will remain strong!  Stay positive... tomorrow is another day and I will continue to work harder!!!  Only difference now will be ... is doing it on the road and while visiting with friends and relatives!! Wish me luck!

Tomorrow Goal's:  Tomorrow should be interesting... This will be where nutrition and dieting skills will come in handy!  Forward! never straight!

Cooking Tip of the Day:  This is more of a tip on surviving fast food when on a road trip.  Whether you are driving cross country in a Winnebago or in a small Chevy traveling just shy of eight hundred miles... you will inevitably have to stop where there's fast food.  Put on the brakes there sister... for breakfast I am so looking forward to a bowl of oatmeal at McDonald's. How can they possibly mess that up... well I'll let you know.

Health Tip of the Day: When on a road trip be sure to have at least a gallon of water in the vehicle... ideally there should be one gallon per person.    Make sure not to go too overboard on the water... more pit stops.

Tomorrow Goal's:  I am going to continue on the path I am on, however my workout will be a little more intense.

Cooking Tip of the Day:  Use olive oil for cooking when appropriate. It adds to the taste of the dish and is better for you.

Health Tip of the Day:  Maintain a balanced lifestyle. There should be a balance between your work time and your leisure time. Remind yourself, “All work and no play make Jack a dull boy.” All work and no play can also make Jane a dull girl as well.  ;)
