Day 2 ~ What is it That They say... "No Pain, No Gain"?

It's tough going on diets.. the restrictions, feeling hungry, craving certain things and then you have to eat things that taste like cardboard.  Well that is the extreme! but you get the just of it all.
I on the other hand do not want to give up food, let alone cooking new recipes from Food Network... Calley, my 4 1/2 year old and I cook at least two new recipes each week.
I love eating good!  However, the trick to this will be adjusting recipes with substitutes that are a little less fattening and as always...
moderation, Moderation, M O D E R A T I O N !!  And I won't have to give up on my delicious food!!

My Cooking & Eating Habits:  My problem is that I love good food; gourmet food; I love to cook, I must use butter, not margarine, I do not do diet drinks (it's either all or nothing- besides I am not a big soda drinker); sugar- never artificial; we make things from scratch... lemonade included; I only used natural fresh foods, nothing processed or canned... fresh, Fresh, FRESH! foods only!!, I love to eat, and Calley loves to cook...

Now we just have to tweek the way we cook and eat.  All I have to do is just substitute some items for other healthier ones.  Lot's of times I will use lemon or lime, instead of salt.

Goal:  To loose 15 pounds in 21 days
If the contestants on Extreme Makeover Weight Loss Edition
can be expected to loose anywhere from 90 to 150 pounds in
             a 90-day period... I can do this!

Day 1 Weight :              175.7 lbs.
Day 2 Weight:               176.4 lbs.
Weight Lost:                  + 0.7 lbs.
Weight Lost To Date:  0.7 lbs.
Weight Left to Loose:  15.7 lbs.
wii Fit Age:   65  :(  They get you if you do not know the routine!!

Today's Exercise:  This morning I worked out for an hour and 3 minutes of exercise.
My workout included: Lifestyle Warm up-  Warrior; Bird's Eye Bulls Eye; Downward Facing Dog; Jack Knife; Single Leg Twist; Snowball Fight; Basic Run, Rhythm Boxing, Lunge; Hula Hoop; Cycling; Skating Arena; Leg Extensions; Advance Step; Standing Knee; Rhythm Kung Fu; Tricep Extension; Balance Bridge; Freestyle Running; and Boxing.
This sounds and appears elementary compared to Gold's Gym... well let me tell you I am sore! Legs, waist and arms.. all sore.  As they say...No Pain No Gain!!
Burned 406 calories - The equivalent of eating a slice of apple pie (395c) or 9oz. of Salmon (380c).
Water Intake:  8 - 16oz bottles of water

Breakfast:  Two scrambled eggs
Lunch:  Salad with romaine lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, hearts of palm, and bamboo shoots. All topped with a homemade lime vinaigrette
Dinner:  3oz piece of chicken (no skin), leftover salad from lunch and for my carb, I had a meat empanada that Calley and I made the other night... very surprised that there were any left!

Cooking Tip of the Day:  If you love pastries, try this make ahead Baked Apple recipe (I found online) for breakfast... you could even add yogurt and a fiber cereal to make it more filling... just 183 calories and a full serving of fruit by the time you start your day at work or school.

Today's Summary:  I must have been very dehydrated, because I did not go to the bathroom even half of what I did today!  And, if anyone thinks that using wii Fitness Plus is for wimps... well, then tell that to my waist, legs and arms!!  Sore!! OUCH!!  As they say No Pain, No Gain!  Finally, just because I gained 3/4 of a pound, I am not discouraged!  It is going to take more than two days of eating right to take off any weight.  After all, to loose one pound you food intake needs to be reduced by 3,500 calories.

Tomorrow's Goal:  Go to the grocery store and stock up on vegies and fruits, and healthy alternatives.  Furthermore, I would like to increase my workout to two hours.

Health Tip of the Day...
Is breakfast the meal you often give up hoping you will loose weight?  It's not that I give it up to loose weight... it's just that I'm not hungry that early, and/or I'm rushing out the door, especially when school is in.  Well, An American Journal of Clinical Nutrition study report shows that people who eat breakfast end up taking in fewer calories the rest of the day and have lower levels of LDL (bad) cholesterol than the rest of us.

I am not a doctor or a dietitian, and am not promoting for you to follow "my 21-day challenge."  I do however advise you to consult your physician before exercise or dieting.  This is for my own personal gain (or loss) and not affiliated with wii in any way.  wii is not paying me for this.
